Software and Hardware Requirements





Hardware and Software Requirements:


Online and Hybrid/Blended courses will require the student have access to hardware and software outside of the classroom. The course description and syllabus must clearly list the hardware and software requirements for the course. In addition students must be provided with contact information for the institutions computer support center if they need technical assistance.
A recent study conducted of mobile learning trends shows that upwards of eighty percent of college students own their own laptop or smart device. Many institutions offer computer labs or learning commons for students to access  computers, laptops and tablets if they do do not own their own.


Below is list of minimal Hardware and Software requirements for online or hybrid learners:


Platform: Windows XP, or Vista; MacOS 9 or MacOS X or higher
Hardware: 256 MB of RAM, 1 G of free disk space
Software: Microsoft™ Word 2003 (XP) or higher, PowerPoint, and Adobe™ Reader™
Browser: Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher, or Netscape 7.2 or higher
Audio and Video Player: Apple™ Quicktime™ 6.0 or higher and FlashPlayer
Modem: 56 K or other Internet connection
NOTE: JavaScript & Cookies must be enabled
